STORMAGIC™ ANNOUNCES CHANNEL PARTNER PROGRAM TO DISTRIBUTE ITS ISCSI SAN MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE TO SMALL AND MEDIUM ORGANIZATIONS

Remote Management Capability Helps SMB Users Outsource Their Storage Services to Local Resellers

Bloomington, Minn. – December 5, 2007 – StorMagic, a fast-growing developer of storage management software, today announced details of its channel partner program, which targets resellers and system integrators supporting small and medium businesses (SMBs). StorMagic partners can now gain access to the recently launched StorMagic SM Series™, an iSCSI-based Storage Area Network (SAN) solution designed specifically for SMBs to help them store, share, manage and protect data through a single, easy-to-use interface. The optional remote management feature gives end-users the option to outsource this function to resellers, while focusing on other business aspects. StorMagic distributes its products exclusively through indirect channels.

“It is exciting to tell our SMB customers about the latest data migration, consolidation, and management technology without having to add higher cost and the need for additional resources in their organization,” said Keith Dolgaard, president of Computer Consulting Partners, Ltd. in Scottsdale, Ariz. “With StorMagic, leading-edge iSCSI technology is now accessible to SMBs through easy-to-use software that can be installed in only ten minutes and does not require specialized storage skills. This is helping our customers maintain their existing hardware investments.”

“I am glad we are now able to offer storage solutions designed with the SMB market in mind,” said Jeff Rudolph of Sikich LLP. “Our customers look for value in the technology solutions we provide, including reasonable cost, scalability and ease of use. With StorMagic’s storage management solutions, we are now able to offer them the value they look for with enterprise-class capabilities, and this gives us a better chance of winning their business.

“We are now offering our channel partners a rewarding program based on an easy-to-use software that brings the latest iSCSI SAN technology to SMBs,“ said Mike Stolz, vice president of marketing at StorMagic. “We are here to share the StorMagic resources and expertise with our partners in order to expand their presence in their respective markets and support their customers. StorMagic was built on the belief that the SMB market is the most appropriate for this technology, and that indirect channels are the best means to reach small and medium organizations.”

The program incorporates several areas where partners can provide significant value-add to the overall solution. These include the remote management capability that allows resellers to handle daily SAN management for customers who need it, and the option to do off-site backup hosting and storage of replicated data for added security and disaster recovery.

Other benefits of becoming a StorMagic channel partner include:

Two levels of resellers (Preferred and Premier) with generous discounts

Qualified sales lead generation and lead distribution to partners

Joint marketing and selling with the StorMagic team

Sales training and access to dedicated StorMagic sales representatives

Opportunity protection and through deal registration

Referral fees for non-reseller partners

24X7 access to the StorMagic partner website with useful tools, information, as well as case entry and management

Ongoing web-based and onsite training

The StorMagic software allows users to logically consolidate all storage volumes into a single pool, making it easier to manage and adapt to their changing business needs. Capacity usage and throughput are monitored, and can be balanced and optimized by dynamically migrating volumes. Data protection is performed locally using RAID and snapshot technologies for backup, data retention, or compliance purposes. The StorMagic software supports Windows, as well as Novell NetWare, Linux (RedHat, SuSE), and Mac OS X.

Technology Strength, Management Track Record, and Company Vision Make StorMagic a Winner

Bristol, UK – 7th November 2007 – StorMagic™, a fast-growing developer of storage management software, today announced that is has been selected as one of the 24 winners of the 2007 English Tech Tour, which showcases the country's most promising emerging technology companies to selected venture capitalists. StorMagic was one of nearly 300 entrants being evaluated in great detail by the leading UK venture capital organisations that make up the Selection Committee; the reviews considered several aspects of each company, including business model and vision, management quality and track record, vision, capability to execute, and technology.

“There has never been a more exciting time to set up a high-growth technology company in England,” said Keith Arundale, president of the English Tech Tour 2007. “Last year, there was three times the amount of technology investment in England compared with 2004, and funding for technology ventures increased an incredible seven-fold in the UK overall.1 We've come a long way since the previous Tech Tour was conducted and the outlook for the technology sector is positive.”

“I am extremely excited to be among the winners of the English Tech Tour 2007, and I am very proud of the StorMagic team. This is a tremendous endorsement for us, as it validates our belief that there is a strong need for a truly user-friendly, cost-effective storage management solution in the SMB market today,” said Hans O’Sullivan, CEO of StorMagic and former co-founder of Eurologic and Elipsan, both acquired by Adaptec. “Although we have no immediate need for funding, we are looking forward to working with potential investors with a view to our future investment requirements. Partnerships with strategic investors and industry experts are fundamental to ensuring StorMagic becomes one of the strongest brands in the data protection market.”

STORMAGIC™ ANNOUNCES EASY-TO-USE STORAGE MANAGEMENT SOLUTION FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM ORGANIZATIONS

Emerging Software Developer Brings Enterprise-Class Storage Capabilities to SMBs

Bloomington, Minn. – September 25, 2007 – StorMagic™, a fast-growing developer of storage management software, today announced the StorMagic SM Series™, an iSCSI-based Storage Area Network (SAN) solution for small and medium businesses (SMBs). This highly reliable software allows organizations with limited IT resources and growing data storage demands to store, share, manage and protect data through a single, easy-to-use interface. Primary storage functions such as data migration, consolidation, and management are now accessible to SMBs at an affordable price, without compromising on performance and without the need for specialized storage skills.

“I was impressed to see that StorMagic specifically designed their storage system for the SMB market,” said Tony Asaro, senior analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. “It isn't enough to provide a GUI or intuitive management commands but to think about the holistic experience of implementing a SAN and then managing it for the long term. That is what StorMagic did from the onset, creating an experience with the SMB user in mind.”

“Finding an affordable and reliable storage software solution that would work seamlessly with our current Novell servers was challenging,” said Jon Edwards, an IT Officer in the Faculty of Mediaeval and Modern Languages and the Linguistics faculty at Oxford University. “Although pricing and ease-of-use are two vital requirements for most educational institutions today, we knew that we couldn't compromise on reliability either. As we look after two faculties at this university, we need to make sure their data are always protected. StorMagic's software offered us a network-based data protection solution at the right price.”

“StorMagic's goal is to solve SMB users' storage challenges without introducing complexity or the need for additional resources. We have developed a solution for this demanding environment by providing a comprehensive storage management tool that offers a very compelling return on investment,” said Hans O'Sullivan, CEO of StorMagic and former co-founder of Eurologic and Elipsan, both acquired by Adaptec. “Through our strategic partnerships with local channel partners, end-users can non-disruptively install the StorMagic software in their current heterogeneous environment while preserving their existing investments. Our shared application storage (iSCSI SAN) yields significant financial advantages to end-users, who do not have to purchase additional hardware and software to benefit from comprehensive data migration, consolidation and management.”

By using the simple, Windows-based interface of the SM Series, users can get through set-up and configuration in less than ten minutes, without impacting their ongoing activities. The software allows them to logically consolidate all storage volumes into a single pool, making it easier to manage and adapt to their changing business needs. Capacity usage and throughput are monitored, and can be balanced and optimized by dynamically migrating volumes. Data protection is carried out locally using RAID and snapshot technologies for backup, data retention, or compliance purposes. System management can take place both locally and remotely, without the need for on-site IT administrators, making the StorMagic software an ideal solution for small businesses and branch offices. The StorMagic software supports Windows, as well as Novell NetWare, Linux (RedHat, SuSE), and Mac OS X.

Pricing and Availability
The StorMagic software is available now through a worldwide network of channel partners at an MSRP starting at US$8,000/£4,000.

STORMAGIC™ HELPS OXFORD UNIVERSITY INCREASE DATA PROTECTION

Bloomington, Minn. – September 25, 2007 – StorMagic™, a fast-growing developer of storage management software, today announced that the Faculty of Mediaeval and Modern Languages and the Linguistics Faculty at Oxford University has started deploying its storage management software in order to increase data protection across these units. The StorMagic software is being deployed to manage a 12-bay Fibrenetix RAID solution populated with six 500GB Hitachi SATA hard disk drives (3TB of raw data formatted to 2TB of data in a RAID 6 configuration).

Oxford University counts more than 130 nationalities among its student population of over 18,000, and together, the two faculties employ a staff of nearly 250 and count more than 100 post-graduate students.

“We knew that finding an affordable solution that could work seamlessly in a Netware environment and that would effectively transition us to a networked storage model while giving us reliability, support, and ease of use was going to be a challenge. Like most educational establishments, for us, money is not a bottomless pit,” said Jon Edwards, an IT Officer in the Faculty of Mediaeval and Modern Languages and the Linguistics Faculty at Oxford University, who will be using StorMagic for these two faculties with more than 350 staff and students.

Before the deployment of the StorMagic software, in order to protect their data, the IT team responsible for the two groups above backed up multiple servers' storage, at the time directly attached, to a central location every night. Now, all file storage is being moved onto the RAID solution to be managed by the StorMagic software. Future-proof scalability is ensured by the extra bays, which will be populated as the need for increased capacity grows.

“Our servers and direct-attach storage infrastructure were dated and we wanted to deploy a cost-effective, network-based data protection solution that would work with our Novell and Linux servers,” continued Edwards. “The development team was flexible, they listened to our feedback and incorporated it into the web-based user interface.”

StorMagic is an iSCSI-based solution built from the ground up for SMBs and includes features such as data migration, replication, and consolidation to allow users to share, manage and protect data even with limited IT resources and no storage expertise. Differently from other storage management software products currently available, StorMagic is well within financial reach of SMBs and yet does not compromise on performance or capabilities.

“Although requiring performance, interoperability and scalability like most organizations, educational institutions have traditionally faced the double challenge of limited human and financial resources in the IT department,” said Hans O'Sullivan, CEO of StorMagic and former founder of Eurologic and Elipsan, both acquired by Adaptec. “As one of the most prestigious educational establishments in the world, Oxford University is expected to provide its students and staff with the best service across the board, be it quality of teaching or level of data protection. I am thrilled to say that StorMagic has helped them meet one of those expectations.”

Through the StorMagic solution, storage volumes are consolidated into a single pool to simplify capacity management and allocation. The software enables users to monitor and balance physical storage resources to ensure maximum utilisation rates. Thanks to the web-based interface, users can manage the storage either locally and remotely, thus dispensing with the need for on-site resource administration. The StorMagic software supports Windows, as well as Novell NetWare, Linux (RedHat, SuSE), and Mac OS X.

About StorMagic
