August 15, 2012 in Branch Office, Case Study, Multi-Site, News, SvSAN, Virtualization

We’re glad to announce the release of this informative case study which highlights how E.ON Climate & Renewables achieved High Availability across over 100 Remote renewable energy facilities across the globe.

The Challenges they faced:

  • Very remote locations
  • No On-Site support
  • Traditional Solutions too expensive
  • Traditional Solutions are prone to failures
  • No Central Management / Deployment possible with other solutions.

Read this case study and learn how E.ON Climate & Renwables overcame these challenges with StorMagic’s SvSAN

StorMagic’s SvSAN™ provides a cost effective solution to enable highly available datastores, uniquely enabling organizations to implement shared storage in remote sites while retaining the benefits of centralized management.
StorMagic’s SvSAN is a virtual storage appliance (VSA), designed for VMware ESX® environments, which through its intuitive vCenter based interface, leverages the internal and direct attached storage of your servers to present them as shared datastores.

Learn How to Achieve Optimal Storage Virtual Appliance Performance

May 16, 2012 in Branch Office, Case Study, Storage, SvSAN, Webinar

When: May 30th at 11:30 – 12:30 EDT / 16:30 – 17:30 BST

Organizations are increasingly dependent on a growing number of branch-office applications. Server virtualization provides an ideal solution to the server sprawl that would otherwise result, but application and server consolidation often leads to concerns regarding application performance.

Storage performance is often to blame. High-performance SANs are one solution, but they are both too costly and too complex for typical branch-office environments. Storage virtual appliances provide a better alternative, delivering greater simplicity at lower cost. Performance, however, still matters, and here, SVAs are not all created equal.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • How to evaluate the performance of SVAs to find the best solution
  • How to ensure best performance from SVAs
  • Why Creditplus Bank replaced their physical SAN with an SVA and saw higher performance
  • How to enable high performance branch-office high-availability

This educational webinar is aimed at both IT professionals and business decision makers whose organizations have tens, hundreds, or thousands of branch office locations.

Finding the right storage solution for virtualizing your remote office/branch office environments can be a real challenge. Leveraging Storage Virtual Appliances (SVAs) may be your best solution, but are you prepared to take action? What do you need to know to make an educated decision?

Presenters

Join our webinar to learn how virtualizing your remote and branch sites with an SVA may be the right choice for your organization.  Hear from Blackned and learn why they chose an SVA for the German Army, including what questions they asked and the process they took to find the right solution

In this webinar we’ll discuss the common challenges addressed by an SVA solution, including:
- Budget restraints
- Limited IT resources
- The need to achieve high availability at multiple sites

Then we’ll tackle important questions often addressed, including:
- What to look for in an SVA solution;
- How does an SVA manage multi-site environments effectively; and
- How does an SVA meet both short-term and long-term budget requirements?

SvSAN HA for ESXi makes affordable business continuity possible

September 2, 2011 in Case Study, SvSAN

StorMagic SvSAN™ highly available shared storage solution provides consolidated data availability at a fraction of traditional cost.

Founded in 1989 with more than 130 employees at 5 locations across Germany, news aktuell delivers press releases to the media and financial markets as well as offer editorial addresses and seminar organization to its customers.

The Problem

news aktuell faced the age old problem, how to achieve High Availability at multiple sites without breaking the bank? Moving away from VMware was not an option and after months of research there seemed to be no alternative other than to license all the ESXi systems.

“Unfortunately this was not financially possible as the initial investment was too high and would have prevented us from continuing our virtualization through VMware, We needed to find an interim solution.”

The Solution

Finally they came across StorMagic and found that SvSAN would not only be able to leverage the server storage and create the required shared datastore for High Availability but that StorMagic was also in the late stages of developing high availability for ESXi and ESXi Essentials.

“We put SvSAN’s HA to the test and it does exactly what is says on the tin.” Says Steffen Clausjuergens, “When it is released in September we’ll be deploying it in some of news aktuell’s branches across Germany to be managed centrally at the head office in Hamburg”
